QuikkRide Terms of Service
1. Service Scope & Platform Role
These QuikkRide Terms govern your booking and use of transportation services arranged via the Quikk platform in Juba, South Sudan. These terms supplement the general Quikk Terms of Service.
Platform Intermediary Notice: Quikk is a technology provider, not a common carrier, transportation operator, or taxi company. Transportation services are performed exclusively by independent third-party driver partners who operate as autonomous service providers under their own responsibility and licensing.
2. Vehicle Categories & Capacity Limitations
QuikkRide offers various vehicle categories to meet user travel needs across Juba:
- Quikk Boda (Motorcycle): Fast urban transit for a single rider. Strictly limited to one (1) passenger. Helmets are mandatory for both driver and passenger.
- Quikk Tuk-Tuk (Three-Wheeler): Economical multi-passenger neighborhood transport. Strictly limited to manufacturer passenger capacity (maximum 3 passengers).
- Quikk Standard (Sedan / Hatchback): Enclosed 4-wheel passenger vehicle. Maximum four (4) passengers.
- Quikk Comfort (Large Sedan / SUV): Air-conditioned larger vehicle tier for spacious travel across town. Maximum four (4) to six (6) passengers depending on vehicle specifications.
Drivers reserve the right to decline trips if passengers exceed permitted vehicle capacity limits or attempt to load hazardous cargo.
3. Cash Fare Calculation & In-Person Settlement
All ride fares on QuikkRide are governed by the following cash rules:
- Upfront Price Estimates: Before confirming a ride request, the app calculates and displays an estimated fare in South Sudanese Pounds (SSP) based on anticipated trip distance, duration, and vehicle tier.
- In-Person Direct Payment: Upon arrival at the trip destination, the passenger pays the total fare directly to the driver in physical cash (SSP). The driver provides change if required.
- No Digital Card or Wallet Deductions: Quikk does not deduct fares from bank cards, mobile wallets, or credit balances. Fares are settled entirely hand-to-hand between rider and driver.
- Route Variations and Waiting Time: Significant route deviations, multiple stops requested mid-trip, or prolonged passenger waiting times may cause the final fare to adjust from initial estimates based on standard platform rate cards.
4. Cancellations, Delays & No-Shows
To preserve platform reliability for all users:
- Passenger Cancellations: You may cancel a ride request without charge before a driver arrives. Repeated frivolous cancellations after a driver has traveled towards your pickup point may result in temporary account restrictions.
- Driver Cancellations & No-Shows: If a driver fails to arrive or cancels due to traffic or mechanical issues, the platform will attempt to rematch you with another available independent driver.
- Absence of Electronic Refunds: Because fares are paid in physical cash only after completion of the journey, no electronic refund workflows, payment reversals, or chargebacks exist on the platform. If you paid cash to a driver for a trip that was not completed, report the incident immediately to Quikk Support for mediation and platform review.
5. 18+ Rider Eligibility & Policy on Minors
Quikk is an 18+ platform. To register a customer account and independently request transportation on QuikkRide, you must be at least eighteen (18) years old.
A registered adult passenger (18+) may independently book and travel in any authorized QuikkRide vehicle tier without parental chaperoning, subject to vehicle safety rules and local traffic regulations in Juba.
Unaccompanied Minors Policy
Quikk does not currently offer an unaccompanied-minor transportation product. Registered adult account holders may NOT book rides on behalf of unaccompanied individuals who are under eighteen (18) years of age unless specifically accompanied by an adult parent, legal guardian, or authorized supervisor throughout the journey.
Driver Rights & Obligations: Independent drivers should not knowingly begin, accept, or execute a trip involving an unaccompanied passenger under 18 years of age. If a driver arrives at a pickup point and reasonably identifies that the sole passenger is an unaccompanied minor, the driver is instructed to decline the ride for safety and liability reasons [LEGAL REVIEW REQUIRED — SOUTH SUDAN TRANSPORTATION LAW].
6. Passenger Rules & Conduct
Passengers must observe common courtesy, civil conduct, and local laws:
- Follow all safety directions provided in the Safety Guidelines, including mandatory helmet use on Boda-Boda trips.
- Do not request drivers to violate traffic laws, speed limits, or traffic police directives in Juba.
- No smoking, consumption of illicit substances, open alcohol containers, or aggressive behavior inside vehicles.
- Cleanliness: Passengers causing intentional damage or excessive soiling to a driver's vehicle may be required to pay reasonable direct cash cleaning fees to the driver.
7. Lost Property Procedures
Quikk and independent drivers are not liable for personal belongings left behind in vehicles. However, we facilitate communication to assist in recovery:
- If you believe you left an item in a vehicle, contact Quikk Support immediately with your trip time, pickup and drop-off points, and driver details.
- If the driver locates the item, the passenger is responsible for arranging a safe public meeting point to collect the item. Drivers may reasonably request reimbursement for fuel and travel expenses incurred when delivering lost property to the owner.
8. Limitation of Liability & Local Legal Review
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable South Sudanese law, Quikk disclaims liability for the actions, negligence, vehicle defects, or traffic violations of independent third-party drivers. Independent drivers are not agents or employees of Quikk.
Disputes regarding rides, fares, or driver interactions should be submitted to:
