Location & Tracking Notice
1. Purpose of Location Data
Because Quikk operates mobility and food delivery services across Juba, geographical location information is essential to the core functionality of our platforms. Without location data, we cannot calculate upfront fare estimates, route nearby drivers to passenger pickup points, or direct delivery couriers from restaurant kitchens to customer doors.
2. Website vs Mobile App Location Handling
It is important to distinguish how location data is processed between our public websites and our mobile apps:
- Public Websites (quikkride.com, quikkeats.com, quikkbusiness.com): The public websites do NOT track your device GPS coordinates. Any location information on the web is provided manually by you through optional form dropdowns (such as selecting your Juba neighborhood: Customs, Konyo Konyo, Hai Amarat, Munuki, or Gudele).
- Mobile Applications (Quikk Customer & Driver Apps): The mobile apps request access to device location services (GPS, cellular network triangulation, and Wi-Fi networks) to calculate routes, dispatch nearby drivers, and display real-time navigation.
3. Ride Telemetry & Tracking (QuikkRide)
When booking a ride through QuikkRide:
- Pickup Coordinates: Used to identify your meeting point and dispatch the closest available driver.
- Destination Coordinates: Used to compute upfront travel distance, estimate trip duration, and establish the upfront cash fare.
- Driver Location Telemetry: When online and accepting rides, driver GPS coordinates are transmitted to match requests, guide arrival navigation, and display trip progress to the passenger.
4. Delivery Location Tracking (QuikkEats)
For meal and grocery orders through QuikkEats:
- Storefront Coordinates: Used to display nearby participating restaurants and estimate kitchen preparation distance.
- Delivery Address: Provided by the customer to guide courier delivery.
- Courier Real-Time Telemetry: Couriers transmit location updates during active order transit so customers can monitor order arrival.
6. Map & Cartography Providers
To render route lines, calculate travel distances, and display map geometry, our mobile applications connect to secure mapping service APIs. Data shared with cartography providers is limited to coordinates required to return map tiles and distance matrices; personal profile identities are not attached.
7. Device Permissions & Controls
You have full control over location permissions on your mobile smartphone:
- Android: Go to Settings → Apps → Quikk → Permissions → Location (Choose "While using the app" or "Don't allow").
- iOS: Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Quikk (Choose "While Using the App" or "Never").
Note: If you disable device location permissions, you may still input street names or landmarks manually, but automated pickup pinning and live turn-by-turn navigation will be unavailable.
8. Location History & Retention
Trip coordinate trails and route breadcrumbs are retained in connection with completed trip records for 12 months for safety investigation, dispute resolution, and fare audit verification under South Sudan commercial practices. Coordinate trails older than 12 months are aggregated or pruned.
For questions regarding location processing, submit an inquiry via our Privacy Requests Portal or email Support@rareincorporated.com.
